Josefin Tingvall

Josefin Tingvall (1993), based in Gothenburg, Sweden, is a multidisciplinary artist with a base in textiles and craft. Her practice is rooted in a poetic and material enquiry into the dynamics, manipulation, and entanglements of objects and environments. In her projects, she explores themes of fragility, change, and the role of humans in a more-than-human world.

Tumbling Worlds is a project about material change and speculative world building; objects and materials are mixed and worn by simulating decomposing systems of wind, water and movement with a rock tumbler. Through a parallel process of tumbling and virtual world building, the project investigates consumption culture's impact on the earth's changing environments. The virtual environments invite viewers into a liminal place between memories and new associations. In Speculative Gatherings, Tingvall participates with a sitespecific game enviroment.
